The 'Divine Gorge'. A path hewn by hand into the vertical walls of a grey limestone gorge, high above the river Cares between Asturias and León. It was opened to service a hydroelectric channel and is today the most famous walking route in Spain. It has no technical difficulty, but it runs along unprotected precipices: it calls for a clear head, proper footwear and a full day's walking.
