Cádiz and Seville

In the early 20th century a 127-kilometre railway was planned to link Jerez with Almargen. Thirty tunnels were bored, four viaducts raised, the stations built… and no train ever ran. A century later, thirty-six and a half kilometres of that line that never was are ridden by bike between Cádiz and Seville, beneath the largest griffon vulture colony in western Andalusia. It is the only greenway declared a Route of Tourist Interest in Andalusia.
